Breakthrough

It’s been a year since we all learned about COVID-19. Two months from now, it will also have been a year since the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) was implemented in the country. So many things have changed since last year. Everything is done almost online, sales from food deliveries and online shopping have gone up more than ever and video calls with family and friends are the new normal.

For a while, perhaps many of us have been focusing on what has changed and what we could no longer do. Maybe like me, you have been praying that this will all be over so that things will go back to the way they were like going out without masks and face shields, being able to meet up with people without the social distancing, or being able to use the usual public transportation with the normal and affordable fare.

Nobody expected that this would go on for so long as it is, and maybe many of us are already getting frustrated. But in order to see the light in all of this, I guess the only way to move forward is to put those thoughts on hold and focus on opportunities to do new things. Instead of looking at what can no longer be done, ask yourself, what is something new that I can do because of this situation? What other options can there be? I think that’s a great way to fight off the frustrations that we have been feeling all this time.

And remember, breakthroughs don’t just come from accidents, they also come from those who are always thinking of something new and better.
