About Us

My sister and I have always wanted to create a blog– so here we are fulfilling that dream. What was initially a random thought during one of our chat sessions became a “floating” goal. Unfortunately, we couldn’t get around to starting it because we honestly didn’t know what to write about. We just didn’t know where to start.

I can say that I have always been a frustrated writer. As a kid, I liked to write stories, which I never seemed to finish because I would be stuck in the middle and not know how to end them. During my high school days I got hooked in writing poems because of the contests that we had to join. In my college days, I aspired to create a novel that was in the category of what you may call “chick lits”. I started out enthusiastically and I already had an ending in mind. But then again, I would get stuck in the middle. It is a novel after all so it should at least be more than a hundred pages right?

I usually get my ideas from the books that I like to read at that point in time. So when I was about to graduate from college, I became fond of reading inspirational and devotional books.  Over the years, I can say that I have matured in my spiritual life as well. I learned how to read the Bible and use it as my guide in my day to day living. The next thing you know, I wanted to write my very own inspirational book. But I remembered how I struggled with writing. Also, there were already lots of books out there in the same category. How should mine be any different?

A few months after we had that “blog conversation”, my sister suddenly posted this on my Facebook wall: “Hey whatever happened to our blog idea?”

It was such a perfect timing. It was only the day before when I watched the movie Julie and Julia and if you’ve seen it, you’d be really inspired to create your own blog — in the movie’s case, a cooking/food blog. I guess you can call this my “light bulb moment”.

I thought, why don’t we just create a blog that could inspire people? Instead of having to worry about the beginning, middle, and end of a story, let’s just take it one day at a time! And instead of telling people how to do certain things, why don’t we just share what we learn everyday?

Things are easier said than done, but they are never impossible. My sister and I are miles away from each other. We lead different lives. But even if we come from 2 different walks of life, we can’t say that one has a better life than the other. Our goal for this blog is to maximize our optimism. We will do this by realizing the blessings in every single day that we live. Of course, there will be days when we will be faced with problems. That is the reality of our lives. But faith in God will carry us through these obstacles. Sometimes we just become too busy worrying about the problem that we don’t realize the other side of it -the side that we are really supposed to see.

We’d like to invite you to take this journey with us as we learn to acknowledge the presence of God in our everyday lives and find the blessings that He’s always prepared for us.

Matthew 5:16 – “Just so, your light must shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your heavenly Father.”
